Our Love Affair with Manolo Blahnik

We are seriously obsessed with Manolo Blahnik shoes and we HAD to create a video about them & him. They are absolute perfection. They are feminine, gorgeous shoes that make you feel powerful. Some of them you cannot stand all day in, so be prepared. More of a sitting shoe! 🙂 But aren’t they delicious to look at!? In a sea of divine designer shoes, we are somehow always drawn to the Manolo Blahnik section. 

We highly recommend watching “Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards.” It is named this because Manolo made shoes for lizards out of the wrappers for Cadbury candy when he was growing up. He spent some time is Paris with Paloma Picasso (youngest daughter of Pablo Picasso). Next he moved to London and hung out with the Rock N’ Roll crowd like Mick & Bianca Jagger. His shoes are works of art.

He has achieved first name status, so if someone says “Manolos,” you know what they are referring to. Having a presence on Sex & The City helped him become a household name.

We are aware these are expensive. If you just start with one it would be the ‘BB’ Pump or the Chaos Sandal. You can get them on the RealReal and consignment shops as well as getting them new or on sale.
