An Inside Look Into The Frick Young Fellows Ball 2023

Mar 31, 2023

The Frick Collection’s Young Fellows Ball is one of my favorite events of the year. The crème de la crème of New York society along with designers, philanthropists, art collectors and more attend this lavish ball. This black tie affair is always sure to be a feast for the eyes, and this year did NOT disappoint. The guests brought their absolute best, & we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the various interpretations of the bejeweled theme. The theme is not only timely due to Taylor Swift’s song, “Bejeweled”, but it also celebrates The Frick’s latest exhibit, The Gregory Gift, which you can learn all about in this issue of our Mini Mag. The chairmen for this year’s ball included Paul Arnhold, Drew Garrison, Ivy Getty, Wes Gordon, Louisa Jacobson, and Indré Rockefeller all of whom made an appearance. This year’s event quickly sold out and had a 100+ person waiting list!

The Frick’s attention to detail is unmatched which is why it is one of the most desirable events to attend each year. The curated cocktail menu revolved around the bejeweled theme, & the guests always appreciate the fact that they do not skimp on the quality of liquor & wine they serve. The hors d’oeuvres and desserts are always delicious, so make sure to grab them before they are gone! This year, they were provided by Pinch Food Design. *I sometimes used to stand near the door when the party was held at the mansion to grab them off the tray before they were quickly gobbled up by the guests!!

The Frick thoughtfully created a variety of photo ops throughout the museum, so there were endless places to snap the perfect shot showcasing your chosen look. They even created a “Step into a Fragonard” where you were able to take a photograph INSIDE a Fragonard painting which was one of the biggest hits of the evening and had a consistent line all night.

There is truly nothing like donning your absolute best frock & mixing and mingling with the young movers and shakers of Manhattan while either perusing The Frick’s phenomenal art collection (which included Degas, Fragonard, Rembrandt, Van Dyck & more), sipping on your drink of choice or getting down on the dance floor with beats provided by Angel + Dren.

We highly recommend attending The Frick Young Fellows Ball next year, and we can’t wait to see you in 2024! In the meantime, make sure to become a Young Fellow in order to stay on top of the latest happenings at the museum as well as attend their upcoming Spring Garden Party.

The evening kicked off with a fabulous dinner party thrown by Casey Kohlberg at the newly opened hot spot, Caviar Kaspia at The Mark Hotel!
