WE ARE SKIN CARE OBSESSED, ARE YOU?
We hear time and time again that taking care of your skin is important. The first lines of defense are, of course, washing your face and sunscreen. After that the choices are overwhelming sometimes! Don’t you agree? Delia’s first job after graduating from college was on the buying team at Barneys New York in the “Apothecary” category (fun, right?). She learned so much about skin care, and all the exciting brands who became her vendors and friends in the process. One of those was Mila Moursi. Have you heard her name before?
THAT SOUNDS A LITTLE FAMILIAR, TELL US MORE!
Mila Moursi is a lovely, smart female founder who has been a skincare coach and celebrity esthetician for over 30 years. Her salon, the Mila Moursi Skin Care Institute & Day Spa in the West Hollywood area of Los Angeles, has been in business since 1981. She also has products we love!! Her clients include Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, Charlize Theron, Courtney Cox, Sia, Candice Bergen, Arianna Huffington, Jane Fonda & more. When we spoke with her, she talked about what special people these women are. We think SHE is special! She is a legend in the world of skin care and aesthetics. She began her career in Paris where she studied cosmetic chemistry. She eventually moved to the United States, and as they say, the rest is history!
WHAT SETS HER APART FROM OTHER AESTHETICIANS?
WHAT ARE OUR FAVORITE MILA MOURSI PRODUCTS?
Delia fell in love with the Cleansing Milk the first time she used it, just the name is comforting, don’t you agree? For maturing skin, Alison loves the “Oxy Cellulaire” Cellular Renewal Cream. Mila is known for her skincare rituals and techniques like Dry Contouring (which she invented). She goes over these in the episode. We put together some of our favorite products of hers for you to explore below after you listen!
Mila’s daughter, Dina, is now a member of the Mila Moursi team, which of course, we love, since we are a mother/daughter duo also!
When “skin care” is describing a skincare line, it becomes an adjective. The adjectival form becomes one word. Example: “I am trying a new skincare product.” However, if you are describing the act of taking care of your skin, it becomes a noun such as, “Delia is very meticulous about her skin care.”
