Happy soon-to-be summer! It seems like this winter was a long one. Does it feel that way to you? There is nothing like flowers in bloom to warm our spirits! Hello Spring! It can also cause stress for many women who find it easier to dress for the winter than the summer. For women who don’t love their upper arms, thighs or tummy shopping can be a challenge, especially in warmer weather, when we have fewer clothes to camouflage our less favorite body parts. *Scroll to the bottom of this post to peruse the dresses I’ve chosen just for you!
Do you know the question I am most asked these days? “What am I supposed to wear?!” Why are they asking that? Well, if you don’t wear shorts any more (although many women still do, which is lucky for those of you who can!), and if you feel hot and uncomfortable in pants and jeans in the warmer weather, then dresses would be the obvious solution….so where are they?? There are millions of dresses available- tiny silk “slip” dresses, dresses with cut outs in all areas front and back, thousands of super minis, baby doll styles, body skimming knits, strapless, etc., but WHERE are the easy to wear and care for, chic, lightweight dresses for women who have busy lives and do not spend most of their time at a garden party or a fiesta? Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing better than a garden party on a breezy summer evening, or a fiesta on a hot summer night, but those times are few and far between for most of us!
This is why I have been on a mission. I decided I would search until I found some dresses that might appeal, and I think (fingers crossed) I have found some that could be strong contenders. We all have different body types, coloring, lifestyles, budgets, parts of our body we like to camouflage and accentuate, and so forth, so every dress in this group will not be for you, but my hope is that you may find one or two that will up your style game (and comfort and confidence) just in time for summer!
I also included a few “wraps” and cardigans-I recommend you have one or two to go with dresses that are strapless, halter or sleeveless if you like to cover your upper arms.
P.S. If you are looking for a style I didn’t include, respond to this email, and I’ll see what I can do!
