Warm weather is, hopefully, on its way. For those of us who are ready to de-layer and show some skin, it may be time to go digging in the closet for those shorts we swore we’d never wear after Summer 2015. This Spring 2024, the short-shorts are being dressed up on the runway. Paired with a sharp blazer and button-down white blouse, the shorts are sure to give a casual spin on a more typically formal look. For extra fashionista points, pair the shorts with a matching blazer or sweatshirt.
The slingback heel is finally back and there’s never been a better time for a 13 Going on 30 rewatch. Coming in a range of colors, heights, and heels density, any selection of the shoe is bound to catch eyes.
The slide-on heel strap makes this an easy choice for this spring. The stylistic minimalism paired with a bright pop of color makes the heels the perfect accessory for individualizing your daily look. Those who desire an extra flair might even spring for a pair with a bow or flower.
The preppy style is one we have come to know and love and it seems as though it’ll never go completely out of style. The updated version of this classic aesthetic made its way to runways this season via collared shirts, pleated skirts, and sweaters knotted around the neck. The look is typically featured with neutral colors or bright colored monochrome looks and can be a timeless addition to any wardrobe. With clean lines and simple garments, dressing “preppy” is a simple way to look put together and refined.
Power Dressing seems to be the newest trend in workplace fashion. The trend, which resembles the workplace dress typically seen in the 1980s, highlights a meld of typically feminine and masculine garments.
The looks feature more masculine, structured, jackets that almost resemble men’s waistcoats. Paired with the oversized blazers are feminine, tight-fitting, skirts and trousers (or slacks). Combined, the two create a very interesting and compelling silhouette unlike those we’ve seen in workplace garments in the last years. A lot of designers are calling the mix an embrace of girl power. Women are ready to take up space and advance their careers.
We have seen sheer layer on sheer layer this season. From bathing suit cover-ups to see-through skirts, it seems that sheer is all the rage. Those less willing to bare all can feature the sheerness as a cutout or use a sheer layer over a funky fabric to add some texture and alter the garment’s silhouette.
Roses seem to be the flower of the season and rosettes are the preferred method of application. The textured roses seem to work in tandem with a variety of different styles. They can be used to dress-up and embellish an outfit and can also be a perfectly understated addition to an already busy outfit. These sweet little accents can be seen on collars, as accents along the waistline, as jewelry, and so much more.
90’s minimalism is Spring 2024’s solution to semi-formal wear. An ideal look for a day at a museum, the trend consists of ribbed turtlenecks, high-waisted pants, oversize blazers and vests, and trench coats. The trend highlights a minimalism that veers towards sharper classy and elegant looks instead of neutral, soft, silhouetted looks we often picture when thinking of minimalism today. A look that requires little thought, 90’s minimalism is always chic.
Big bags hit the runway with a running start this year. The bags were styled alongside every combination imaginable, some even including the variety of items that might fit in said bag; a change of shoes, an overnight set, computer, the list goes on.
We’ve started to see the oversize bags in an array of contexts, everyone from sports players to teenage girls are celebrating the trendiness of the bags. With the combined style and utility they provide, the bags are bound to be a lasting investment. Find the oversized bags in straw, leather, canvas, and nylon to suit every occasion.
