organize your closet
You don’t really need too many “tools” to get your closet in order, but there are a few that can make the process of organizing and keeping the closet in prime working order much easier. When our resident stylist is working with clients, she may suggest something she says could help her client and his or her basic needs. After all, some people have large walk-in closets and keep their entire wardrobe in one place throughout the year, simply shifting clothes around accordingly. Others have their clothes in multiple smaller closets throughout the house, and store out-of-season clothes, shoes, coats, etc. in an attic or spare room, sometimes even off premises. You can see how different situations will call for different wardrobe management tools.
A stylist works in a similar way to closet organizers, but takes it a step further, helping edit the wardrobe according to style aesthetic of the client, body type, lifestyle, etc., in order to make getting dressed for any occasion a pleasure rather than an experience not unlike having teeth pulled! In the grand scheme of things, this may seem insignificant, but consider for a moment all the times when you were stressed, because you had “nothing to wear” at the last minute, others were impatiently waiting, and time was running out. Thoughts of “I’m simply not going to go!”, float through the mind, and even if you do go, your mood, and many times the collective mood of the group, has been brought down, due to the frustration of getting dressed.
Once you have an orderly closet, and each piece inside is one you wear (having several options of how and what to wear with it), every item in the wardrobe is easy to find. The tools to deal with any emergencies will be close at hand, & your life will be much, much easier. This causes a ripple effect; you aren’t stressed, you feel great, your confidence builds, and this resonates to those around you. It’s a win-win for everyone!
