Suddenly, everything old is new again! Maybe it has to do with the world being a scary, unpredictable place these days, and we are yearning for “simpler” times, or maybe we feel like putting on a stiff jean jacket feels like putting on our armor to go out and conquer the world! One reason you are seeing a resurgence of denim style jackets in fashion right now is the nod to the 70’s that some designers are influenced by at this moment in time.
Drool-worthy, highly coveted and super luxury brands like Loewe, Balmain, and Gucci to name a few are coming up with amazing (no better word for it seriously!) versions of the humble jean jacket, with prices in the thousands; life-long treasures they would be, if you have the money to buy them! Maybe we will find them ourselves in a vintage shop one day, which, come to think of it, may also be a great place to look for jean jackets now. There is also a chance you (or your boyfriend, husband, girlfriend etc.) has one already. One style jean jacket that is really “having a moment” is the oversized style. This is an uber cool look if you don’t have hips- if you have a curvy figure, the oversized style can cause you to look larger than you are. Oversized jackets are best on people with more “boyish” figures, and that is a fabulous, modern look for that body type. More fitted versions show a curvy figure off well by accentuating a small waist!
