We are excited to have Stephanie Morimoto, Owner & CEO at natural & organic brand, Asutra, on our podcast! This brand is women-owned and women-led, and has products to help with sleep, pain, relaxation, balance, focus, and includes skincare, products for the bath, etc. The idea behind Asutra is that self care is not selfish, but rather a necessity for good mental and physical health, and we wholeheartedly agree! *Want to try Asutra? The connection between mind and body is much stronger than we realize. It is a simple fact that if you don’t pay attention, things can get out of balance pretty quickly, and symptoms such as headaches, gut issues, skin irritation, clinched teeth, sore muscles and joints will only get worse. The chronic pain in your neck that has lasted for months may turn out to be caused not only from working on the computer or a disc issue, but also from the tension you hold in your shoulder and neck muscles (we give this example from personal experience; Dry Needling rather than the Dr. recommended neck surgery was the answer!).

It’s time to start listening to your body-remember it’s the only one you’ve got, and you are your own best advocate! Take care of YOURSELF with the same amount of energy that you put into taking care of others. Do you hear us? Please STOP putting yourself last!!!

We are thrilled to have Stephanie on The Style That Binds Us Podcast to give us helpful advice about how to take care of oneself during times of high stress, which we have been experiencing collectively during the global pandemic, and to tell us more about her brand, Asutra. It made us happy to learn that all the products are made with organic plants, minerals and essential oils, never tested on animals, and no product contains parabens, phthalates or petroleum (makes one wonder what we have been putting on our bodies in the past!?).

Now for a little background on Stephanie. She went to Brown University. She worked at McKinsey & also Teach for America before buying Asutra. Stephanie was responsible for generating an impressive amount of revenue for both organizations, is & has always been a champion for equality and MUCH MORE! She started out as a customer of Asutra’s products, and was so impressed that she bought the company! Her co-owner and biggest fan is Venus Williams, whose title is now Chief Brand Officer. The products are part of her “Go-To” recovery regimen. That’s a pretty great endorsement!

For post workout soreness, we especially love the “Melt Away” cream, because it continues to work for hours, and even seems to go to work again after a shower the next morning! The ingredients include Magnesium, Shea Butter, Lemongrass, Vitamin A and Almond oil. This product is highly recommended by us (and Venus and Serena) for any athletes in your life! It is just one of the many products Asutra has to offer. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts & Spotify.
