Recently I was working with a styling client whose style icon has always been and remains Audrey Hepburn. She asked me to put together pieces with a similar style to Audrey’s, but in a modern way. It was not an easy task by any means. Today’s clothes are so much more trend driven that it took me a longer amount of time to curate. I used collected photos of Audrey as my guide.
So many of you have mentioned Audrey Hepburn as a woman whose style has had a strong influence of you, so I thought I would share this with you as well!
These pieces are not inexpensive, but certainly neither were Audrey’s (many of her most celebrated looks were designed by Hubert Givenchy, with whom she shared a close working relationship). At The Style That Binds Us, we always recommend buying less but buying better when possible. These pieces are meant to last many years if taken care of. Some of Audrey’s gowns by Givenchy are housed at the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute, and look as if they could still be worn today!
If nothing else, this Lookbook can serve as inspiration for how to recreate Ms. Hepburn’s legendary style in your own wardrobe!
