After working for many years as a beauty columnist at The New York Times & the birth of her daughter, Brooklyn-based Bee Shapiro couldn’t find a clean option for fragrance. Therefore, she created a brand, Ellis Brooklyn, to solve this need. Literary elements can be found throughout Bee’s line of body/hand lotions, perfumes, etc. which stems from the fact that Bee is a writer. Her logo has been named the literary leopard which has an interesting story behind it. The highest acclaimed authors are called literary lions, but Bee noticed the people reaching these accolades were often men. Therefore, she changed the logo from a lion to a leopard to represent the fact that they are a modern company setting new standards. This brand is all about clean ingredients, unforgettable scents and sustainable sourcing and we adore it.
