We attended our first BFW! We didn’t realize that designers at BFW are showing a year in advance, so we weren’t seeing S19, but instead were seeing F19. It was a jam-packed schedule, which was tiring since we had just arrived from Paris Fashion Week. All the traffic in Manhattan made it challenging to get to everything on time, but it all worked out.
What kinds of dresses did you see?
There were a lot of sexy bridal dresses. The naked dressing trend continues to bridal, which you would think would be for the wedding night, but might as well show everyone else too!
How diverse is BFW?
There was a lot of diversity on the catwalk in terms of sizes and colors. BFW is very small, so you see the same people at the shows and presentations. We are obsessed with the back of the wedding dress. Usually the front of the dress is quieter and the back makes a statement. The front is covered up by the bouquet usually and the back of the dress gets to be seen for much longer during the ceremony rather than the front.
